Weld Neck Flanges Series A and B

About the product
Generally speaking, series A flanges are much thicker, stronger and heavier than series B flanges in the same pressure ratings and size. A series flanges withstand more external loading than series B type. The series B flanges are required for smaller diameters than A type flanges. It has a small diameter than series A type. Both series A and B flanges are defined as weld neck flanges. However, only A type flanges offer ring type flanges from class 300 to class 900 with this standard.

From an economic point of view, series A flanges are more expensive than B type flanges. In most piping applications series A type flanges are recommended. But in the refurbishment or replacement or non critical designing series, B type flanges are used.
